Hi everyone,
I'm shutting down this blog in the next week or so. In fact, Therese is going to set it up so if you come here you will be automatically transferred over to my new blog.
BUT, since not everyone actually comes here thanks to Google Reader (thanks Google Reader!) I thought I would put up a final post.
My HOPE is that you all will mark my new blog, update your link list, and continue to visit me. My name will continue to be the same.

Love always,

I love it when you call me Big Poppa
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!
And a special Happy Father's Day to the father of us all, Desmond, who has started posting some of his blog archives on a new site!

The night of three times
Okay, it wasn't all in one night, but it was all in about a 12 hour period.
Allow me to demonstrate.
Not on the monitor!
Yesterday was a going away party for me from my old team, the employees who worked for me. They held it at one person's house.
This house.... its incredible. HUGE. A room just for a bar. And not a little lame bar from Home Depot, but a full on wet bar with stools and mirrors, and every kind of liquor you could want. Another room for gaming, with a card table, pool table, dartboard, and so on. A HUGE kitchen, deck, hot tub.... the list goes on. When you go downstairs, there are 4 guest rooms, plus a "scrap booking" room, an extra bathroom, etc.
The house layout is important to the story, so thanks for sticking it out. If you skipped that, go back and read it. Memorize it.
Moving on.
Therese decided to come to the party. She wore a hot looking dress and 5" heels, and was looking pretty smoking. There were probably 15 people there, hanging out, drinking. When she was talking to me individually she mentioned that she "hardly had underwear on."
I decided I needed to check that out. I told her to go to the bathroom downstairs and that I would be there in 2 minutes. I walked in, and.... well, you had to know I wasn't going to get TOO graphic. That was time #1.
She left the party after that. In fact, it may have been the only reason she was there in the first place!
I got home and the kids were already in bed. I was feeling a bit amorous, still, and since the out-of-town company who is staying with us wasn't back from their dinner, we decided to spend some quality time together.
#2
When I woke up this morning, it was game on.
#3
And that is three times in 12 hours. Jealous much? The only problem is we need to keep it down. I don't want the aunt and uncle to hear!

730 Days
730 Days.
It sounds like the title of a bad Sandra Bullock movie, but don't get it confused with 730 Days Later, which is an excellent Sandra Bullock zombie movie.
Yes, it has been two years since revelation. For those of you newer readers, revelation is the day Therese found out about the affair.
I'll never forget packing my bag that night. I was supposed to be leaving the next day for a business trip, but as I quickly packed a suitcase I didn't know if it was for the business trip or for good.
I made a couple of good decisions that first night that set the tone for healing. When the other woman suggested we get together to discuss all of this, I said 'no'. And I cancelled my business trip the next day to spend some time at home. Realistically, she didn't want me at home, but it was the right thing to do.
I never saw the other woman again. Therese passed her on the road numerous times, but I never had to go through that. And to this day, I can't go near the place the other woman worked, which limits my shopping ability but is totally worth it.
I'm sorry for what I did to my wife and family, of course. It is still hard to read the many blogs out there where there is no sorrow for this type of behavior. I can't imagine that those people are truly happy.
Two years since revelation. It's hard to believe. It all feels like a nightmare that happened long ago. We've made a lot of progress since then, though we still have our baggage that will come back to haunt us once in awhile.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support during our struggles. We continue to try to grow as people and as a couple. Sweetheart, thanks for staying with me. It would have been easy to walk away, but you stuck to our vows. I'll be forever indebted to you.

A week of innuendo
I am doing manager interviews with a co-worker who has a doctorate in English Literature and he states:
"You know, I like what you did there, but I accidentally left my participle dangling."
I hate when that happens. Especially in front of all those people.
Therese and I were talking about getting a new laptop computer, when I noticed that it only had a 12" screen, she said (referring to our current tablet):
"I don't know why that's a problem. I've been satisfied with the 12 inches I already have."
Yes, you all read that right. And don't forget it.
A friend calls and we are talking about the current Subway Sandwich campaign. He notes:
"Maybe Therese prefers a KFC snacker to a five dollar foot long."
Trust me, she doesn't.

I've been waiting.... for a job like you... to come into my life
Got the official job offer early this morning.
Monetarily, it was more than I had hoped for. From a relocation point of view, he convinced me he would work with me to make sure it isn't an issue that I am staying here and won't see my boss but maybe once a month.
I accepted it.
I'm not going to get into the specifics of what I will be doing yet, but will once I actually start the job. Needless to say, it is a promotion - and extremely visible to the CEO of the company on down. Considering how big a company we are, that is unusual. My name will be out there.
It is nerve-wracking. I've been looking for the right opportunity for almost exactly a year now. And now that it has finally come along, I'm excited, but, it is much different than anything I have done before. After 8 years, I'm the king of my current job. I like being king. Now I go back to being a peon.
I think I might enjoy being a peon.
